The SSTFA & Hot Club D'ecosse welcomes you to the website of the 2008 Scottish International Grand Prix, one of the premier events of the British Championship and part of the FISTF Tour. We are pleased to be returning to Glasgow and look forward to continuing our recent success last year in hosting such a prestigious event .

On the 26th – 27th April 2008, at the Holiday Inn - Glasgow Airport, players from all over Europe will join a strong domestic contingent as the best in the world compete for the Scottish Grand Prix titles and valuable World Ranking points.

The two-day fish event will see a Grand Prix for Individuals, followed by the Grand Prix for teams following the same format as last year.

We will attempt to update the site regularly with entries of both individual players and teams alike.

The Holiday Inn – Glasgow Airport is, as the name suggests, adjacent to Scotland’s largest airport, with direct flights possible from all over Europe. The tournament will take place in the hotel’s largest suite which provides one of the best atmosphere for any tablesoccer tournament. This year the SSTFA have secured the use of the whole suite where last year only two thirds of the room were available. A discounted room rate is also available for all participants - (Please see the accommodation page for more information.) - A short journey to Glasgow city centre ,  Paisley or equally short journey to idyllic national beauty spots, the hotel is ideally located and can offer first rate facilities and accommodation for all competitors.

We are delighted to welcome competitors from all over the world to a fantastic venue which hopefully makes travelling to and from as simple as possible for our entrants . Players can compete and unwind in complete comfort and we would like to thank everyone at the hotel for their support at this time.

The Scottish GP is a firm favourite of many players in the circuit, this tournament is always played in excellent spirit and provides lasting memories for everyone who has the privilege of competing here. The move to Glasgow last year proved successful as the standard of play and surroundings were of the highest quality. The Open final itself was won by world No. 1 Eric Verhagen (Holland) , beating his now San Siro team mate Kasper Bennett 5-3(England). The Veterns final was won by Welshman John Lauder while the ladies event was won by Scotlands Susan Wright(Scotland).

The team event was won by Devils Austria beating Mattersburg also from Austria 3-1 in the final.

Last years tournament attracted players from all over Europe including Holland , Greece , Malta , Austria , Belgium and the UK , it is hoped that this year the numbers of entrants will increase in all categories.

By returning to  this venue we hope to continue to provide a fantastic event and would encourage as many players as possible to join us at this exciting time and help the tournament be a huge success again this year, and for many years to come.

We all agree that the tournament would be nothing without the players, and  if we can be of any assistance in your booking process or during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you all back to Scotland again.
